We’re proud to announce that Purdy have been shortlisted for the Housing Executive Magazine ‘Best Social Value Project’ award!
Our collaboration with Peabody on the Darwin Court Foodbank has transformed an unused meeting room at Darwin Court in East London into a thriving community hub that serves 160 registered families and 90 residents every week.
Since the opening in August 2023, our investment in refrigeration units, freezers, and shop-floor shelving has helped create a “mini-mart” style food bank that operates with dignity and choice, regularly supported by Purdy volunteers. The hub also runs a Baby Bank once a month, which provides nappies, food, and clothing for various ages.
The partnership has grown into a year-round community anchor, with seasonal initiatives including Easter celebrations, Christmas present scheme and Christmas voucher distributions.
