The recent Rockifest event celebrated 90 years since the first buildings went up on the Rockinham Estate, and Spokemead were proud sponsors of the day. We had a stand serving homemade smoothies and slushies, made by Nicole and Debbie. They were a great hit and sold out twice, which saw the team having to head back to the Spokemead office for supplies, which is thankfully is nice and local, just around the corner from the estate!
We also gave away over 250 goodie bags, each packed with a notepad and pen and healthy nut and fruit snacks.
The event was so much fun, from the Parade that included the South London Samba Band and the Elephant Queen leading a colourful procession around the estate, to the Kendo and Taekwon-Do demonstrations, Zumba class, “Keepie Uppie” and breakdancing competitions, the wellness area where you could get a massage, join a yoga session or help weave a willow elephant, to the circus in the kid’s space that offered circus-inspired toddler dance classes, a capoeira workshop, circus skills sessions, side shows and games, and space hopper time trials, just to name a few!
We really enjoyed being part of Rockifest and loved the opportunity to connect with the community we work with. It was a brilliant day filled with energy, fun, and community spirit, and we are already looking forward to doing it again next year!
