Food poverty continues to be a serious issue across London, with more than one in five households struggling to afford enough to eat.
This reality highlights the crucial role food banks play in supporting families, particularly as the cost of living continues to rise and with winter upon us, the costs of heating and essentials put extra pressure on families, making services like this vital.
As part of our ongoing commitment to the Peabody Darwin Court Food Hub, Pippa Pang recently spent the day volunteering to support members of our community who rely on this important service.

The Food Hub is open every Tuesday morning and Wednesday afternoon and now has 210 Peabody residents signed up from the local community. The hub also runs a Baby Bank once a month, helping families with nappies, food and clothes, for children of various ages.
In what can be such a scary and uncertain time, Eleni Kandylaki and her incredible team at Darwin Court provide more than just food, they provide a sense of safety and support to residents, and signpost those who need it to further services available through Peabody.
Team Purdy are proud long-term supporters of the Food bank and we love seeing the positive difference it makes in our community during these challenging times.
Donations are always welcome, especially wipes, nappies and any other baby items. If you’d like to show your support, please get in touch with Eleni Kandylaki.
